This nine card series, “Expelled From Home”, focuses on the Mormons as they migrated across the United States from New York to Utah in the mid-1800s. By using radial, dilatational, and axial grids, my goal was to reflect the journey and different environments the Mormons encountered on their travels. The darker colors represent the cloudy skies they saw and the dirt that they traveled on which contrasts against the yellow to represent happiness.  To make it more impactful, the representation of the hardship juxtaposes the joyful ending of them finding their final home in Utah.
